fashion week wrap-up

i may not like fashion week however i clearly love fashion. so this is my new york fashion week wrap-up. i've chosen 3 looks from each designer....and let me tell you, it was not easy. so many amazing looks! i'm going to do a re-cap of different fashion weeks so this is just number one. can't really say anything about trends for next season as i hate them. i say...wear what you want. be creative. get inspired. find your own look. and have fun!!!! ok enough of that shit. here's some clothes.

my version of fashion week

So as much as i love fashion, i hate fashion week. seems like a mismatch but no can do with the hoity toity business of going to shows and shmoozing at parties. not my style. so my version of fashion week this season was to do the bk flea market on the weekend. yeah! Saturday was a little rainy but we still managed to have a good turnout. Sunday was the record fair + vintage bazaaaaaar. Louise and I held it down both days while Nick was in it for just Sunday. This was our first flea experience and we were learning the ways. Apparently the ways means buying from another vendor and then marking it up in your booth. Happened twice to Louise! Marc Jacobs boots one day, Michael Jackson Thriller shirt the next. We had someone ask how much the MJ shirt was and it was $250!!! Louise sold it for $65! wtf. oh well i guess.

watch out cuz we're gonna do this again!!! really really good stuff at our booth. gonna make it even better for next time.

i did however manage to slip in a little fashion. My friend Aya Kanai styled the Bensoni show and asked me to do the music so of course i said yes. They wanted upbeat girly bands so that's what i gave em! Went well besides the hangover i had. oof.

anyways, here's some photos from all the events....

make time for philly

drove down to philly on sunday for the pool party extravaganza with my roomie julie and buddies carlos and jonathan. had a delicious cheesesteak + gremlin while watching naked bikers ride down south street then headed over to the bamboo bar for some drinking + dancing. woah. bamboo bar. this place on the reg is cheeseball central but for this party it totally worked. got to see some old friends....julian, adam sparkles, mike z, and of course the ever awesome dave p. !!! played a sweet set. nic was bombarded onstage by dancing women trying to get his attention. then he jumped in the pool afterwards and gave us a hug. i thought it was sweat, but was happily surprised it was not. here are some live action shots.

after the festivities, we headed to jonathan's mom's house in the woods. think ice storm. shit was real. can't say it wasn't nice to wake up to trees. jonathan found his old stash of star wars memorabilia. CHORUS LINE. then we packed up to leave. had some brunch then went to my favorite thrift store in philly....retrospect. shit is never picked through there. found an awesome long sleeved knit sweater with holes + a sequined number i'll be busting out this fashion week. julie found a gem with the $18 christian dior suit. how'd i miss that??? thankfully she is my roomie and i can BORROW THAT. aw philly i do miss you, maybe i'll see you again soon. xoxo

last saturday of summer

it's a beautiful day in the neighborhood. one of the last days of summer. but i can't say i don't love this weather right now. i had a larger plan for the day that included 4 destinations but i ended up only doing 2. first stop....peter luger's for a birthday burger with gordon hull. the meal put me on the floor. on the table included: rolls, shrimp cocktail, tomatoes and onions, french fries, onion rings, and of course.....burgers. to top it all off, we had dessert as well. SCHLAG. wtf. they brought us a BOWL of whipped cream they call schlag that tasted like liquid marshmellows. so good. HAPPY BIRTHDAY GORDIE!!!

Then i hopped on my new (and in new i mean old) bike and rode with carlos over to j penry's place for some backyard bbq pool action. we ended up staying there for 7 hours. beer after beer after sparks + a little tequila worm action. it was a great way to end the summer.

crap he's old

MAX WOWCH IS TURNING 50!!!

let's celebrate him being over the hill at Legion Bar tomorrow! Max, if you recall, is the man behind the ROBODOG fireworks at my birthday. So more than likely this one will be a doozy. I plan on doing too many shots to be able to choose music wisely so don't be scared of my selection. Vito will pick up the slack.

Thursday, Sept. 3rd
LEGION BAR
790 Metropolitan (at humboldt)
10pm til we get kicked out

max will be "lightly" djing alongside me and vito CRAPTURE roccoforte.
